Welcome to my blog about Freeware, Games and Movies Review. Enjoy!
The other day my friends and I were talking about some of the best movies of the 80’s. Suddenly I came up with an idea of writing a series of artcles about all the movies that I’ve watched in the 80’s, I think it would be pretty interesting. Since I’ve seen a lot of movies, list out all of them in one article is impossible. So I’ve decided to break it into several articles and in each article, I’ll list out maybe 5-6 movies.
One more thing to mention is that, idea behind the title of this article “A Movie Odyssey of the 80’s” is taken from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. Let’s get started, shall we?
Three O’Clock High (1987)
Three O’clock high is absolutely one of the best teen movie I’ve ever seen.
Our hero Jerry in the movie is an ordinary nerd who get himself into trouble by touching the bully named Buddy. Now for the rest of the day, Jerry has to figure out how to deal with this guy because he needs to fight him after school.
No matter you’re a nerd or not, I’m sure more or less you’ll share the same experience with Jerry. I guess this is also one of the reasons that made this movie memorable.

48 HRs (1982)
48 HRs is one of the action movie directed by Walter Hill.
We’ve Eddie MuEddie Murphy as the convict, Nick Nolte as the cowboy cop. Although they don’t like each other, for some reasons they need to stick together for the next 48 hours.
I think 48 HRs is the pioneer for the afterwards buddy cop movies like Rush hour, Lethal Weapon or Beverly Hill Cops. It is fast movie with lots of actions and funny moments in it.

The Abyss (1989)
A scientific diving team goes under water to search for the lost nuclear submarine but it turns out to be an extraordinary adventure.
There are many reasons why I love this film. Michael Biehn, this guy is really cool and he became my favourite actor after I’ve watched Aliens. It happens that not only Aliens and Abyss, but Michael also starring in The Terminator. By the way, the movie also had Ed Harris, another good actor.
There are several scenes quite beautiful, one is the shot about the alien base under water. Another pretty impressive scene is the ending where the alien ships show up in the surface. Many expressed that they don’t like the ending but I love it.

Adventures in Babysitting (1987)
Another teen comedy starring Karate Kid’s girl Elisabeth Shue as the babysitter who got herself into serious trouble that she’ll never forget in the rest of her life.
I think Adventures in Babysitting is a very nice and entertaining movie, with lots of funny and exciting moments. Just sit back and relax, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one.

Always (1989)
It is a love story about the fire fighting pilot and the one he loves.
The cast is good, we’ve Richard Dreyfuss, Holly Hunter, John Goodman and Audrey Hepburn. Although I like Richard Drefuss and Spielberg’s movies, I’ve to admit that I don’t like this one. The story is a little bit slow I think. On the other hand, maybe this is not my type of movie. No doubt the performance of various actors are great.

Aliens (1986)
Classic sci-fi action movie of all times. In most of the movies, usually the sequels are worst than the original. But I think Aliens is one of the best sequels in the alien series. James Cameron had did an excellent job in creating wonderful characters in this movie like, Cpl. Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn), Bishop (Lance Henriksen), Pvt. Hudson (Bill Paxton), Pvt. Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) and more. I’ve never seen in other movies that the characters are so well developed. I love the characters so much that I hated Alien3 for killing all those characters.
The movie is packed with exciting moments. I still remember watching this movie in the theater and I think it is almost a perfect movie.
That’s it for this week. If you’ve watched the above mentioned movies, why don’t you leave your comments and share your ideas with us, too?
See you next week!
