Finally, I’ve the chance to get some hands-on experience with Nintendo’s Wii Sports!

Since my friend has bought the Japanese version of Wii, the game & its interface was in Japanese. But anyway, it is still easy to navigate throughout the game.

The game itself includes five sports simulations title namely baseball, tennis, bowling, boxing, and golf.

Apart from the five simulation games, Wii sports also include two additional modes, Training & Fitness modes.

The first one we tried is the Bowling and it really simulates well. Hold on to the B button, swings the controller backward and then pushes it forward, finally releasing the B button to bowl the ball. The move is natural and the feeling is pretty good. There are times when we’ve forgot to release the button and the ball will even fall back towards the crowd. Funny.

You can easily consume your energy by playing baseball & tennis. For baseball, I didn’t play so well as I was having problem to hit the ball. Tennis is okay, the only problem is that I sometimes mix up which characters I’m using as you’ll need to control 2 characters at the same time.

No doubt boxing is the most strength demanding game. I almost don’t got enough strength to finish the game. I think you’ve to play it with a rhythm. After finishing round 1, I think there will be some reply stuff and I could go take a break before round 2. However, round 2 starts right away. So, I’ve lost all 3 rounds and my back was pretty painful the other day.

Out of the two modes, I found out the Fitness mode is pretty interesting. After playing some games in the Fitness mode, it will calculates the player’s fitness age (from age 20 to age 80). Cool!

Overall, the game is interesting and suitable for the family or a bunch of people. Although I don’t have the chance to play it with the Sports Pack, I guess it will feel even better and realistic.
